Convert SteamID32 to Steam Hex ID
Paste a SteamID32 below to get the Steam Hex ID straight away. The conversion runs in your browser, so nothing is sent anywhere and there is no sign-in.
Example: STEAM_0:0:26039975 converts to 0x1100001031AAD4E
How the conversion works
Both formats describe the same underlying account, so the conversion is arithmetic rather than a lookup. Every Steam identifier is built from one 32-bit account number, and the route from SteamID32 to Steam Hex ID goes through it:
- Start with the SteamID32. Multiply Z by 2, then add Y. That gives the account ID back. For
STEAM_0:0:26039975that gives an account ID of52079950. - Build the Steam Hex ID. Add the base, then write the result in hexadecimal. That produces
0x1100001031AAD4E.

What a SteamID32 is
The original textual format, written STEAM_X:Y:Z. X is the universe (almost always 0 or 1 for public Steam), Y is the lowest bit of the account ID, and Z is the account ID shifted right by one. Splitting the number this way is a quirk of the original implementation, not something meaningful.
Source engine servers and their tooling still live in this format. SourceMod's admins.cfg expects entries like "STEAM_0:1:12345678", most older ban plugins store it, and the SourceBans web panel has historically rejected newer formats outright. If you administer a Counter-Strike, Team Fortress or Garry's Mod server, this is the one you end up needing.
What a Steam Hex ID is
The SteamID64 written in base 16 rather than base 10. It carries exactly the same information — only the notation differs.
You mostly meet this one in log files, database dumps and a handful of older item and trading tools that stored IDs in hex. It is rarely what a service asks you for, and is usually something you need to convert away from.
Converting more than one ID
This page handles a single ID at a time. To convert a whole list at once — a ban file, an admin config, a spreadsheet column — use the bulk converter, which accepts mixed formats and custom profile URLs in the same paste.
