steamid.one Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of steamid.one and all its tools. Plain-English summary first, full detail below.
TL;DR
- All core tools (lookup, convert, bulk, compare, resolver) are free and work without an account.
- Sign in with Steam only to unlock the analytics dashboard and save your colour theme. We never see your password.
- Don't abuse the service. All data comes from Steam's public API and accuracy is not guaranteed.
What steamid.one Is
steamid.one is a free web service that resolves, converts, and displays publicly available Steam profile data. The following tools are free to use without an account:
- Steam ID Lookup — resolve any Steam ID format, vanity URL, or profile link to all five formats (SteamID64, SteamID3, SteamID32, hex, and profile URL).
- Format Converter — single and bulk conversion between every Steam ID format.
- Profile Comparison — side-by-side comparison of two Steam profiles.
- Analytics Dashboard — playtime totals, inventory overview, friends list, and Steam level (requires Steam sign-in).
- Live Resolver — a public endpoint at
/api/resolvefor programmatic lookups.
steamid.one is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation. Steam, the Steam logo, and all related trademarks are the property of Valve Corporation.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the service. Prohibited conduct includes:
- Automated scraping, crawling, or bulk querying beyond what the bulk converter is designed for.
- Attempting to disrupt, overload, or compromise the performance or security of the service.
- Using the service to harass, stalk, or harm any individual.
- Circumventing rate limits or caching mechanisms.
- Any use that violates applicable law or Steam's own Terms of Service.
We reserve the right to block access for any use we determine to be abusive, at our sole discretion and without notice.
Steam Sign-In
Sign-in is optional and provided through Steam OpenID. When you sign in:
- You are redirected to Steam's own authentication page. We never see, handle, or store your Steam password.
- After successful authentication, Steam returns only your public SteamID64 to us.
- We use that SteamID64 to load your public profile and to associate your saved theme preference with your account.
Data We Store
We store as little as possible. Here is exactly what we hold:
- Session cookie — a short-lived cookie that keeps you logged in during your visit. Cleared on logout or session expiry.
- Theme preference — your chosen colour theme, stored in our database linked to your SteamID64. Deleted on request.
- Steam API cache — publicly available Steam profile data is temporarily cached in our Redis database to reduce API load and improve response times. Cache expires automatically and is not shared.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.
Third-Party Services
steamid.one relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:
- Steam Web API (Valve Corporation) — all profile data is fetched from Steam's public API in real time.
- Vercel — hosting, deployment, and privacy-friendly anonymous analytics (no cookies, no personal data).
- Upstash — serverless Redis used for temporary Steam API response caching.
- Neon / PostgreSQL — cloud database used to store user theme preferences.
We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party service.
